Blood, Sweat and Defeat

That's how you would describe last night's game. It's an interesting story...

The sun was shining on a beautiful day; perfect for a game. Dad and I went to Mcdonalds and saw Kasey and Mariah. When we got to the game, we watched the funny ref show off for a little while, then Kasey and Mariah arrived and dad let us decorate his jeep with Kasey's window markers. Later, we started our warmups. We were confident we could beat this team, excited by our improvment at practice, and running around the huge field in the sun envigorated us even further. We get out on the field and we got kickoff. before we could get down to the other end of the field the ball is down with us defence. Before the end of the first quarter, they had scored two, we had zero and didn't increase that number. Dark clouds rolled in from the east, the sun disappeared, the breeze blew colder. We were waiting for rain, but the clouds weren't there for rain; they were there to add darkness to our situation. They took me out until the end of the first half, when the refs blew the whislte for halftime, we were down, 4-0. Atleast in the second half we didn't let them score anymore. Soon after we got out there, some German girl from the other team collided into Elizebeth. That's where the blood came in. Elizebeth took it like an absolute man, but she couldn't go back in for the rest of the game. So that's the story of our first home game, defeated, but with support from most of the school.
